Free Tier

New QwenAPI accounts on the International region receive free quota to explore the API before committing to paid usage.

What you get

• 1 million free tokens per model
• 90-day validity from account creation
• Applies to both input and output tokens combined

Free quota is per-model, not pooled. You get 1M tokens on qwen3-max, another 1M on qwen3.5-flash, and so on for each eligible model.

Eligible models

The free tier covers all models available on the International region, including:

• qwen3-max
• qwen-max
• qwen3.5-plus
• qwen-plus
• qwen3.5-flash
• qwen-turbo
• qwen-vl-max
• qwen-vl-plus
• qwen3-omni-flash

Limitations

• International region only. Global (US/EU) endpoints have no free quota.
• No Batch API on free tier. Batch jobs require a paid account.
• Rate limits apply. Free tier accounts are subject to Starter-tier rate limits (60 RPM / 500K TPM). See Rate Limits.
• No SLA. Free tier usage is not covered by uptime guarantees.

After your quota runs out

Once you exhaust the 1M free tokens on a model — or after 90 days, whichever comes first — requests to that model are billed at standard International pricing.

You won't be charged automatically until you add a payment method. If you haven't added one, requests will return a 402 Payment Required error once free quota is exhausted.

To avoid interruption, add a payment method in the dashboard before your quota runs out.
